ENJOY THE PASSION FOR PISCO
KUMYA, the Quechua word meaning joy or happiness, is the name of the youngest child of this enterprising and committed producer. Kumya is made with 100 percent Quebranta grapes, grown and selected from the warm Ica vineyards.
Kumya pisco by qollqe.
Born with the idea of creating a more standard yet clean pisco for cocktails that is also friendly to the spirit. It follows the highest quality standards.
The grape juice is obtained through the free-run juice process, which involves the natural pressure of the grape berries, extracting the juice by gravity. A pneumatic press is then used, carefully handled to avoid breaking the seeds and thus avoiding unpleasant flavors. Once the juice is obtained, the precious liquid is transferred to the fermentation tank, which, upon completion, produces a young wine, which is then distilled.
This is done in 1,100-liter stills. The result is Kumya by Qollqe, a clean, bright pisco with 41% alcohol, fresh, and youthful, with all the characteristics of the quebranta.
